Hello, Secondary ELA Leaders, Educators, and Designees: I am excited to share with you "Bringing Grammar and Language to Life through Evidence-Based Practices,"<https://www.schools.utah.gov/curr/elasecondary/resources/Bringing%20Grammar…> a guidance document from USBE written by Dr. Deborah Dean, Professor of English at BYU. While I have linked to and attached this document, note that it can also be found on the "Resources" tab of the USBE Secondary ELA webpage<https://www.schools.utah.gov/curr/elasecondary>. This document contains evidence-based instructional practices and routines with numerous examples, including: 1. Suggestions for daily student practice 2. How to best teach grammar with reading and writing 3. Tips for teaching usage and styles 4. Supports for standardized exams and assessments 5. FAQ 6. Further study and reading Join Dr. Dean for a webinar on Thursday, October 10 from 4:00 - 5:00pm.
