Utah Water Watch is recruiting volunteers to monitor lakes along the Wasatch Front. As explained below we have programs for beginner and experienced volunteers.

Please consider forwarding this email to list-serves and posting the attached poster anywhere potential volunteers may be found.

Advanced monitoring: We have partnered with NOAA on an algal monitoring program that pairs volunteer collected data on cyanobacteria in lakes with satellite data. These volunteers are a critical first-link in observing, reporting and verifying potentially harmful algal blooms.

Needed sites near SLC / Provo:

*Rockport Reservoir *Strawberry Reservoir *Jordanelle Reservoir

*Salem Lake *Utah Lake *Big East Reservoir *Deer Creek Reservoir

Standard Monitoring: Targeted at smaller lakes and community ponds, volunteers monitor a site 1/x a month for algal blooms, e. coli, temperature, fish catch, Secchi depth and pH
