We are excited to announced the launch of the Edwards Life sciences Scholarship Program. This new program is initially being launched in Orange County, California and Salt Lake County, Utah to strengthen communities where our employees live and work, and to increase access to higher education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

This program will support high-achieving high school seniors residing in these two regions who are pursuing undergraduate college STEM degrees, and who also demonstrate financial need. Scholarships will be offered to 10 new students per year, and will provide $2,500 towards tuition and other education expenses per year, for four years or until a bachelor's degree is earned (whichever occurs first), for a maximum of $10,000 per student.

Applications for the 2013 scholarships are being accepted now with a postmark deadline of June 18, 2013. The scholarship program is being managed by Scholarship America, and is funded by The Edwards Life sciences Fund. Additional details about the Edwards Life sciences Scholarship Program, including criteria, guidelines and the application process, can be found at www.edwards.com/scholarship<http://www.edwards.com/scholarship>.

As a company committed to innovation, we are excited to support bright young minds in our communities who are pursuing degrees in STEM fields. We believe that investments in STEM education will help ensure that our next generation of scientists and engineers are prepared to continue innovating technologies to solve unmet patient needs.

Please pass along this information to those who may benefit from this new scholarship program.

Thank you,

Amanda C. Fowler
