As a professional interested in family and consumer sciences education, you will find great professional development focused on recruiting, preparing, and supporting educators at the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) 110th Annual Conference & Expo! If you have not already made plans to attend, I would like to personally invite you to register for this valuable opportunity by April 15, our Early-Bird registration deadline.

Each full registration includes numerous sessions within 5 strands:

  *   Advocacy and Collaboration
  *   Leadership and Association Engagement
  *   Educational Tools and Resources
  *   Research and Scholarship
  *   Trends and Innovations

Check out some of the sessions specific to FCS education:

  * Framework for Family and Consumer Sciences in Career and Technical Education
  * Revising the FCS Teacher Standards: Aligning for the 21st Century
  * Growing your FCS Program: It’s All in the STEM!
  * “Escape” Traditional Teaching Strategies and Motivate Students to Learn
  * HyperDocs: A Classroom Teaching Tool

Don’t miss the Opening Session Keynote by Dr. Nancy Franz that will help us rediscover the importance of successfully amplifying our voices and impact through storytelling. Come prepared to leave with the ability to transform YOUR FCS stories into compelling statements.

The Capstone Luncheon (included with full, student, and Wednesday-Only registrations) features remarks by Scott Stump, Assistant Secretary for Career and Technical Education, U.S. Department of Education (recorded), Alisha Hyslop, Director of Public Policy at ACTE, and Dr. J. Scott Angle, U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Institute for Food & Agriculture (invited). You’ll leave the conference with a better understanding of the role of high-quality Family and Consumer Sciences programs in CTE and the agriculture community.

The “Partnership to Recruit, Prepare, and Support FCS Educators—Summit for Action”<https://aafcs.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=bee11993ef54296c205934b97&id=7db0441fe5&e=6342161443> post-conference workshop on Wednesday, June 27 is a “don’t miss” event to garner resources and tools to promote FCS education careers and advocate for high quality FCS programs.
