Dear NASAFACS Colleagues,
As you know, the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) 109th Annual Conference & Expo, Cultivating Social and Emotional Competence for Healthy Relationships, is this June in Atlanta! If you have not already made plans to attend, I would like to personally invite you to register for this valuable professional development opportunity by April 16, the Early-Bird registration deadline.
Each full registration includes numerous sessions within 5 strands, including a session on best practices for implementing the new National FCS Standards 3.0. And we’ll have exceptional keynote addresses by Dena Simmons, EdD, director of education at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, and Paul McGhee, PhD, president of The Laughter Remedy. On Wednesday, you may be especially interested in attending “Say Yes to FCS: Filling the Educator Pipeline—Summit for Action” to continue working on educator recruitment strategies. It’s included in Full and Wednesday One-Day registrations.
The AAFCS Professional Member Full Registration includes three ticketed events: the Sunday Welcome Reception, the Tuesday Continental Breakfast, and the Wednesday Capstone Luncheon. More information and registration options are available at www.aafcs.org/ac2018<http://www.aafcs.org/ac2018>.
If your state has a way to communicate electronically with teachers, AAFCS encourages you to forward the email/information below this week. If you are able to share the information, please let me know so we can track which states have received the information.
Thank you for helping AAFCS promote the 109th Annual Conference & Expo and for advancing family and consumer sciences education. I hope to see you in Atlanta!
