"I really didn't realize the librarians were, you know, such a dangerous group. They are subversive. You think they're just sitting there at the desk, all quiet and everything. They're like plotting the revolution, man. I wouldn't mess with them." Michael Moore

The theme of the 2018 symposium is: Zeroing In: Focusing on Teen Needs.

While teen needs often vary from community to community, all teens can benefit from building social and emotional skills that will help them succeed in school, college, careers and life. Libraries can leverage collections, services, programs, community partnerships and more to help teens build skills around self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationships, and social awareness.

At this symposium, we will explore how libraries can best support teens’ social and emotional learning to help them effectively navigate a challenging world.
