Subject: [yalsa-bk] Useful Tool for Middle School Reader's Advisory

At least, I hope you find it useful! I created a website intended to help
with middle school reader's advisory and to increase general book knowledge
about titles appealing to this age group:
http://www.flashlightchronicles.com

A couple of years ago I began a job as a public librarian serving middle
schoolers. I came from a mostly Teen Services background, and I quickly
realized that my repertoire of book recommendations was almost all too
difficult, to mature, or too irrelevant to the lives of the kids I was
serving. Upon further research, I learned that it wasn't just me. The
entire publishing industry has a hard time with readers that fall between
middle grade books aimed at upper elementary kids, and the ever-edgier YA.

This isn't a review site. It's information and keywords to help you match
the right books with the right kids.

I hope this can help you serve the middle school readers in your life!
