Becky Russell (Colorado Department of Education) will be facilitating a
webinar on Jan. 22 from 3:30 - 4:30 MST on "Dewey or Don't We:
Transitioning to a Book Store Model."
Have you heard about “The Bookstore Model” and wondered what all the fuss
is about? Are you ready to ditch Dewey but feel intimidated? Join us as
Logan MacDonald from Anythink Libraries, and Holli Buchter, Media Services
Coordinator for the St. Vrain School District share their experiences with
going Deweyless. Both of these presenters have taken a different approach
to this concept in their libraries, and they look forward to sharing their
insight, process and challenges in this endeavor.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Identify potential strategies and partners in helping to transition
part or all of their library collection to a “Bookstore Model.”
- Understand how this model has benefitted end users such as K-12
students and public library patrons.
- Intended Audience: School and public librarians interested in
rethinking how libraries organize and present their collections.
