Isn't it interesting that the acronym is harder to say than the actual phrase?

Are you familiar with BYKI Language for Schools? BYKI is the acronym for Before You Know It, created by Transparent Language. Currently used by our military troops, BYKI offers over 70 foreign languages and 16 ESL languages. There are free applications for Droid and Apple products.
What makes BYKI relevant to teachers? It is your ability to support relevant topics and categories of instruction to meet your needs. We also offer vocabulary lists from the more popular textbooks to align with your curriculum.
If you would like a brief 5 minute demonstration video on the service and the teacher’s administrative panel to manage assignments, please contact me.
Have a great day!

In Salt Lake City School District we will be implementing a project using iPad2s with ELL students at Northwest Middle School. We are rolling this out in about January and are reading all we can about applications to use. I will share what we compile over the next few months and I would love it if others will share with me suggestions.
Thanks,
Julie

Dear Colleagues,

I recently received the question of using iPads for English as a foreign language instruction (for ELLs). If your library/school is using iPads for second language instruction, have you found an app that works better than others? Any ideas and recommendations are welcome.

Thank you,
