This evening, on the KSL 10:00 News, Nadine Wimmer, news anchor, will present a
story she created after observing Lori Komlos, library technology teacher at
Highland Park Elementary in the SLC School District, review the Big6 with sixth
graders. Lori, classroom teacher Andrea Pili, and the students are interviewed
about the value of the Big6 and the school library program and the students had
an opportunity to share the products they created to show what they learned.
Julie Atwood, the district's Supervisor for Educational Technology and Library
Media, organized the field trip on the district and school side, while Barbara
Smith, Director of the PIRC Program for Utah and a member of the Davis Board of
Education, and I invited Nadine Wimmer. I'm waiting for final confirmation of
the date and time. If there's a change, I'll let you know.

Michael Chipman, a reporter with KUER 90.1 FM, interviewed Georgia Loutensock
about school libraries in his story about how technology is changing libraries.
Listen on Monday, December 20th, at 7:35AM and 8:35AM on KUER to hear what he
has to say about school libraries.

With a very difficult legislative session just ahead, positive publicity for
school library programs is essential. Please do what you can to help.
