CAPITOL DISCOVERY DAY
Saturday, September 13, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Movie Under the Stars 7:30 PM "Enchanted"
Utah State Capitol Building, Plaza & Grounds
The Capitol Preservation Board, Volunteer Commission, Utah Heritage
Foundation and YouthLINC present Capitol Discovery Day on Saturday,
September 13, 2008. Please join us in exploring the history,
architecture and art of the Utah State Capitol through many wonderful

9:00 AM Family Fitness Walk - Capitol Elliptical Walk-Way - Start and
Finish on the East side of the site
10:00 AM Capitol Discovery Day - Rotunda - The Utah Heritage
Foundation will be hosting a variety of hands-on activities to engage
everyone in the family.
Docents and volunteers will be placed throughout the Capitol to answer
questions and share information with visitors.

10:00 AM Preservation of the Utah State Capitol - Wilson Martin, State
Historic Preservation Officer
11:00 AM Capitol Art & Exhibits - Judith McConkie, PhD, Capitol
12:00 PM Capitol Base Isolation Project - Jerod Johnson, Senior

1:00 PM Capitol Restoration Project - David Hart, AIA,
Architect of the Capitol
The Utah Youth Service Marathon - Capitol Plaza - YouthLINC will be
hosting and encourages everyone to participate in its service project
assembling care packages for teens in foster care, with live music being
shared by top local musicians.
