Picturing America is an exciting new initiative from the National
Endowment for the Humanities, that provides a collection of 40 large,
high quality reproductions of famous American art into classrooms and
libraries nationwide. The famous reproductions in Picturing America,
used in conjunction with the Teachers Resource Book and program website,
help students gain a deeper appreciation of our country's history and
character. The Teacher Resource Book covers biographical information
about the artists, commentary on the significance of the work, and
information about the historical context in which it was created.
Interested in obtaining a FREE set of reproductions for use in your
school or library? Go to NEH
<http://picturingamerica.neh.gov/about.php> or ALA
<http://picturingamerica.ala.org/index.php> for more information and an
application. Deadline is April 15th.
