DO YOU WANT TO HAVE GRAPHIC NOVELS IN YOUR LIBRARY, BUT YOU DON'T KNOW
ANYTHING ABOUT THEM? CHECK THIS OFFER OUT -- This is also good info for
your English teachers.

Night-Flight Comics and Dr. Robyn Hill are sponsoring an all-day workshop
next Sat., May 8, called The Secret Origin of Good Readers and it is about
using graphic novels in English classes. It will be at the new downtown City
Library.

This workshop has been presented in San Diego at Comic-Con and gets a huge
turnout there. A letter was sent out to the Salt Lake Valley school
districts and schools, and there has been very little response.

Anyone attending this can get education credits,- they went to a lot of
trouble to get it certified with the school districts- but they need people
to pre-register.

Maybe people are planning on attending and just haven't registered, but
only those pre-registering will get the "goody bags". It is free, too!

You can read about it and access the registration information on the
Night-Flight website:

I (Patricia Foster) am doing a breakout session about buying gns for
libraries. About the same as at UELMA in March. Teachers are invited to
this but the response is underwhelming so far and it's a shame- they have
put so much work into it!
