The number of applications for the Laura Bush Foundation grants -- up to
$5000 each - for school libraries is down this year. This could be a
chance to grab one for your own school or for another school in the

America's Libraries website at

The grant is made directly to the school and its use is strictly in the

in a short time.
Priority will be given to schools with a free and reduced lunch count of 90%
or more. If your school isn't at or close to that level, would you please
pass along this information to any librarian you know whose school
is serving kids at that financial level? Thanks in advance for whatever
you may be able to do. There's a chance here to get some help into some
schools for relatively little effort.
