As part of a doctoral dissertation at the University of South Dakota,
John Eye, an assistant professor of instructional media at Southern Utah
University, will be sending out surveys to collect data that will help
to identify how public school libraries are linked to reading
achievement. Each principal of a Utah public school serving grades 3,
8, or 11 will be receiving an invitation to either fill out the survey
or forward it to the person in charge of the daily operation of the
school library. The 55-item instrument will take approximately 20
minutes to complete and should be distributed by e-mail in early
October. Ask your principal if you don't see it.
