FOCUS ON TERRORISM INTERACTIVE TIMELINE
In recognition of the Sept. 11th anniversary, SIRS has created an
Interactive Timeline, the latest addition to the FOCUS ON TERRORISM feature
on SIRS Knowledge Source. The timeline is divided into four areas of
conflict - Afghanistan, the Middle East, India-Pakistan and U.S. Domestic.
Information on the Historical Background, Key Issues, Key Figures and U.S.
Role are presented, with continuing coverage from current articles and
enlargeable graphics added on a timely basis.
COMING SOON - Iraq - As the conflicting viewpoints of the Iraq situation
unfold, SIRS will provide concise, reliable related articles within the
major topic areas such as Saddam's rise to power, weapons of mass
destruction, the global response and the role of the United States.
SIRS continues its commitment to provide the most current, accurate
information available to our customers in a timely manner. For libraries and
media centers across the country, your users will now have immediate access
to this Focus on Terrorism Interactive Timeline, providing them with the
most current information on the conflicts facing the world today.
SIRS DISCOVERER'S 9/11: A YEAR IN REVIEW
SIRS Discoverer offers younger researchers methods to search for information
in 9/11: A YEAR IN REVIEW. Under Database Features on Discoverer's opening
page, click on New Content & Hot Topics. A list of words relating to the
terrorist attacks is provided enabling users to search utilizing one of the
following: Keyword, Subject Heading or Subject Tree.
In remembrance of the Sept. 11 attacks, Discoverer's Top Pick will also
feature a different article and image related to the War on Terrorism each
day this week.
