My name is Kent Johnson, Regional School Library Director for World =
Book. I asked Georgia Loutensock who might be interested in evaluating =
an exciting new database product from WB. I also requested she give me =
people who, if willing, could forward the information to other =
interested parties. This is the reason you have received this e-mail.
The new product is a database of primary resources called World Book =
Research Libraries. It is available on a trial basis until May 1 from WB =
on UEN at the WB Online page you already receive at your school. Look =
for the link on the upper right.
I've "piggy backed" this e-mail on one sent to Rick Cline, at his =
request, which includes information about the database and how to logon =
(which you may ignore because of the free trial).
Please scan the "ease of use" features and suggested topics. Kent =
Johnson

This e-mail is late coming. We've had a couple of deaths to cope with =
and I apologize.
I would like you to evaluate WB Research Libraries as a possible =
addition to WB Online for the state and/or for public libraries, =
secondary schools, colleges and universities; or as a stand alone =
database. Here are the url and passwords.
  www.worldbookonline.com
    Login I.D. americas
Password fountain (pencil after Apr 8)
After entering the site you will see in the upper right a button marked =
'World Book Research Libraries' click and you are in.=20
(As the state is already online with WB, entering the above url may =
result in opening WB Online from the default UEN browser in which case =
and you may not be able to access the trial. If this happens try opening =
a second browser window and reentering the url).=20
What you are seeing is a database of primary sources containing over =
4,500 books and 175,000 documents (many more are added daily) =
categorized in eight modules.
Ease of Use features include:
A Blue bar on top that remains visible where ever your search takes =
you.
A "Bread Crumb" box titled You Are Here tells you where you are, in =
your search, at all times. In addition you may click on any part of the =
search and return immediately to that part.
    Searching uses 'simplified' Boolean.
Citation information provided with every document.
A Help and Support button is included at the bottom of the page.
Here are three interesting, to me, search topics; otherwise explore and =
have fun.
"Lincoln letter" (from Saving Private Ryan)
"Louisiana Purchase" (2003 is the 200th anniversary)
"Casey at the Bat" (it's baseball season again, also try 'casey' in =
the search box, not QuickFind, with only the Literature module selected =
for some fun results)
Rick, if any of this is incorrect let me know; otherwise please forward =
it to all who may have an interest. Thanks, Kent
