Would you please help us get the word out about KUED's Young Writers and
Illustrators Contest by Reading Rainbow? Perhaps you could forward this
message to the district coordinators of library media.
I've already asked Lynne Greenwood and Carol Ann Goodson for their help in
sharing information with the language arts and visual arts district

P.S. Georgia--In the coming weeks, look for an invitation in the mail to
serve as a story judge for the contest.
Join us in bringing the love of reading and the joy of self-expression to
Utah children. KUED is hosting its 2nd Annual Young Writers and
Illustrators Contest by Reading Rainbow! Visit www.kued.org for complete

Children in kindergarten through third grade can enter by telling their own
stories using their own words and pictures.
Besides the opportunity to read, write and illustrate, every child who
enters the contest will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by LaVar
Burton, host of PBS' Reading Rainbow.
--Local winners (one child from each grade) will get their stories published
on KUED's Web site and receive a Reading Rainbow video.
--Entries are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5.
--We will forward the winning entries to the national Reading Rainbow
contest where children may win great prizes, including a computer and
