Below is an email from Greg Richens, the CTE Skill Certification Specialist at USBE. It is information about the new updates to Precision Exams. Please read carefully.

Dear Program Stakeholder:

We have been working diligently with our testing vendor, Precision Exams, for the past year to implement a new version of the system. This new version went live on August 20th and can now be accessed at the following location:

http://www.precisionexams.com/utah/

Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, all Utah Career and Technical Education Skill Certificate Program tests will be delivered in the new version of the system. This new version provides many advantages over the old, while retaining a familiar experience for teachers, students, and administrators. It's important to understand that the new system version does not burden users with new learning responsibilities or drastic changes from the previous version. It will involve a relatively easy and seamless transition and much of the additional features are self-intuitive and easy to navigate.

We have made available training resources, if needed, which will help with the transition. Those resources are available under the "Training" tab on the new Precision Exams site:

http://www.precisionexams.com/utah/training.html

With the move to the new version, it's also important to note that in order to access test data from the 2017-18 school year or older, you must Login to the old system using your same ID and password. Instructions to help you with this process and a link to the previous system can be found under the "Historical Data" tab on the Precision Exams site:

http://www.precisionexams.com/utah/historical_data.html

Please note that if you change your password while in the old system, it will NOT be synced to the new system. However, all student certificate data from the past four years has been moved over to the new system. This means that you do NOT need to login to the old system to print a certificate for a student, (assuming the certificate was earned in the past four years).

Both Precision Exams and the Utah State Board of Education are dedicated to ensuring as a top priority smooth CTE exam delivery for both teacher and student, as well as system uptime. If you have any questions about this change, please do not hesitate to contact me at 801-538-7853. If you have difficulty logging into the new system or need technical assistance, please call Precision Exams technical support at 801-653-9356.

Please share this information with your teachers and proctors.

Best regards,

Greg Richens
