Where:  Nebo Learning Center, 500 Main St., Springville  UT=20

When:  June 23, 2006  Friday  8:00 AM- 3:00 PM

Who:  Social Studies Teachers- Secondary and Elementary

Program:
Continental Breakfast 7:30

Welcome-- Introductions

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC GEOKITS- with John Carr

John Carr is the representative for National Geographic.  He will
present how to use the Geokit which has numerous teaching materials for
the modern teacher.  Each district (or teacher) will receive a Geokit to
take back to school and share with other teachers in history.  The kit
is a wonderful resource for the classroom.  It helps make learning come
alive for students.

VICKY KRUDWIG AND ROLAND MCCOOK

Come and meet Vicky Krudwig, author of Here Come the Noochew, a book
about the Ute Indians and Searching for Chipeta.  Vicky is from Denver
Colorado and conducts training for teachers and community about the Ute
Indians in Colorado and Utah.  She has collaborated with Roland McCook
of the Uintah Basin, Ute Tribe in her writings and presentations.  You
will leave with ideas for teaching history, lessons plans, a teachers
guide and a book, Here Come The Noochew.
