Any and all math teachers, as well as any other interested parties may attend and are encouraged to do so. What is a Math Teacher's Circle? It is like a book club for math. We first start with a delicious meal while informally socializing. After about half an hour we jump in and work on an interesting math problem in small groups. After about an hour of productive struggle, we come together and share our solution strategies and discuss implications of using this type of approach in our math classes and other pedagogical issues. Math Teacher's Circles are fun and invigorating. You work with quality people. You discuss interesting ideas. It is free and you get free food. And you will be done in time to spend the evening with your family. Give it a try! After the first meeting, you can decide if it is for you. And you might even want to recruit others to come. For more information, or just to let me know you are coming so I can plan for food, contact me, Troy Jones: tjones at alpinedistrict.org All other dates: Thursday, December 7th Taylorsville HS (room G204) Thursday, January 4th Westlake HS (room C132) Thursday, February 1st Taylorsville HS (room G204) Thursday, March 1st Westlake HS (room C132) Thursday, April 12th Taylorsville HS (room G204) (April 5th is during Spring Break) Thursday, May 3rd Westlake HS (room C132) ________________________________ JANUARY 2018 ? Thank you, ISD Secondary Math Team From: "Andersen, Justin" Date: Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:07 AM To: _ISD Secondary Educational Technology Specialists <_ISDSecondaryEducationalTechnologySpecialists at canyonsdistrict.pvt>, "Marshall, Rachel" , "Duncan, Allison" , "Wilson, Colby" , Leslie Allen Cell , "Wakley, Sallianne" , "Henrie, Susan" Subject: Examview and Canvas Hey all- Examview recently made some updates and improved the process in which Examview quizzes are imported to Canvas. Here is some documentation on how to bring in Examview quizzes and worksheets into Canvas as a quiz. I have found many of my math and science teachers have been hand typing tests from Examview into Canvas and this has been well received by them as a huge time saver. Many Science and Math teachers in secondary have Examviewer. It is a test creator/question bank that came with many of the textbooks that are used in some of the schools. One thing to note, they do have to go in and choose the correct answer to ensure canvas can grade the quiz for them. Hopefully this will be helpful for your teachers. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Jaf0-eKPr1pM2QyRTfcaC2gOa1RtrofS Justin Andersen, M.Ed., M.A Educational Technology Specialist Brighton High / Draper Park Middle m: 385-246-4755 w: http://www.edtechandersen.org/ e: justin.andersen at canyonsdistrict.org [cid:image001.png at 01D3732D.EE33EFA0][Users/Justin.Andersen/Library/Containers/com.mi][cid:image003.png at 01D3732D.EE33EFA0] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
