The attached flyer contains the details. I wondered if you would be so kind as to spread the word through your email lists to upper elementary and middle school/junior high teachers. Our big goal is to help regular education teachers better serve students operating across all three tiers in their classrooms. Please let me know if you need any more information, and thanks in advance! --Linda -- Linda Sorensen, Ph.D. Secondary Cohort Leader and Associate Instructor Urban Institute for Teacher Education (UITE) College of Education, University of Utah SAEC 2248; 801-587-1743 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Great opportunity to be involved with item writing for SAGE. Math Leaders: The USOE Assessment Department is gearing up for our next round of item development workshops. We will be holding three summer workshops listed below. Participants will receive an honorarium of $100 per day and have travel reimbursed directly to them. Hotel accommodations will be provided for participants who live 50 miles or more from the Provo Marriott. Participants do not have to attend every day of the workshop to be considered (but it is preferred). Rubric Validation (June 14-16) Participants will look at student responses to determine what constitutes a correct answer to 2016 pilot items. Rubrics will be adjusted based on participant feedback. Data Review (July 26-28) Participants will look at item-level statistics for 2016 pilot items to determine if the item gives meaningful information about students. Participants will recommend whether the item should be added permanently to the SAGE item bank. Content Review (August 2-4 ? Secondary Math Only) Participants will look at items developed to be piloted on the 2017 SAGE assessments. Participants will make recommendations on the appropriateness of the content, standard alignment, and depth of knowledge. USOE will edit items based on provided feedback. If you or any other teacher would like to participate, please apply at http://goo.gl/forms/Q5VTYo243y (Elementary - Grades 3-6) or http://goo.gl/forms/wqIiCVCVhS (Secondary - Grades 6-SM3). 6th grade teachers should use the application which matches their school type. Applications (short) must be completed by Friday, April 22. Some applicants may be accepted prior to the close of the application window. All applicants will receive notification by Monday, May 2. Please distribute to anyone who might be interested.
