Please take a moment to review the Performance Level descriptors and provide feedback to USOE. These performance level descriptors will help establish the baseline and cut scores for SAGE. The survey closes next Friday, the 18th.
This is a great opportunity to provide feedback on the alignment of the standards and the level they need to achieve in order to be "proficient".
Thank you for all that you do! 7 more hours until spring break!

Subject: Proficiency Level Descriptors Feedback
The links below will direct you to DRAFT versions of USOE's SAGE Proficiency Level Descriptors (PLDs). Once you have had a chance to review these PLDs, please follow the link to take a brief survey to share your observations. Please respond to the survey by Friday, April 18th.
A proficiency level descriptor (PLD) is a description of what students know and are able to do by content area, grade, and proficiency level.
The purpose of these course/grade level PLDs is to make determinations about a student's level of knowledge and ability at each of the four high level proficiency level descriptors written and approved by the Utah State Board of Education found here:
These high level PLDs along with thecourse/grade level PLDs play an integral role in determining cut scores on the SAGE and will influence students’ proficiency determinations. These proficiency decisions will be made in August after SAGE scores are validated.
These draft versions of the PLDs were created by the USOE with the assistance of more than 100 Utah Educators over 3 days in March.
We are now seeking feedback from educators across the state. We greatly value your feedback and encourage you to take the time to evaluate and provide input on anycourse/grade level PLD relevant to your position and expertise as an educator in the state of Utah.
As you review these, please look for the appropriateness of the alignment to the Utah Core Standards, for student ability and appropriate expectations at each level, as well as verbiage and clarity.
Thank you in advance for your help with this valuable feedback—
