Dear LEA,
The Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) is pleased to inform you the Teacher Salary Supplement Program (TSSP) is continuing for the 2013-2014 school year. You may recall this program was established by the Legislature in Senate Bill 2 in the 2008 General Session and provides a supplement for qualifying math and science teachers. We are contacting you because you were identified as one of the contacts for your LEA. If you are no longer working with this program, please let us know who to contact to get updated contact information for your LEA.
There are specific degree majors and assignments outlined as part of the eligibility criteria; therefore all math and science teachers who think meet the criteria outlined in HB:110, and other requirements posted on the TSSP website are encouraged to apply for this supplement. The application will be available online on October 1, 2013, and can be found at www.tssp.utah.gov<http://www.tssp.utah.gov/>. The application will be available until close of business on April 30, 2014. It is important to note that due to budget constraints NO late applications will be accepted. We need an all-inclusive list of eligible teachers by the deadline to ensure prompt payment to teachers who applied within the outlined deadlines.
All new teachers will be required to establish a new account before they are able to apply for the supplement. If a teacher needs any help applying for the supplement there is a link on the right side of the website titled "Application Help" which will walk them through the application process. If the teacher needs further help, they can contact DHRM by emailing tssp at utah.gov<mailto:tssp at utah.gov>. If needed, a teacher can call DHRM and we help them through the application process.
If you as an LEA contact or your teachers have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact DHRM. You can direct questions to the following staff members:
Joel Chibota
jchibota at utah.gov<mailto:jchibota at utah.gov>
 Will Clark
wclark at utah.gov<mailto:mjchristensen at utah.gov>
Please forward this email to all your eligible math and science teachers especially those who may be new or are not familiar with this program.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Teacher Salary Supplement Program. We had a very successful year in 2012-2013 due in large part to LEA participation! We look forward to having all qualified math and science teachers apply and qualify for the supplement during the 2013-2014 school year.
Thank you for your time and have a great day!
