Subject: Botvin’s LifeSkills Training

Education Leadership,

We currently have one additional Botvin’s LifeSkills Training in accordance with 53G-10-406 scheduled for July 31. Please reach out to those teachers that will be teaching the curriculum and ask them to sign up for the required training in Midas. The training is where they will receive their curriculum. The training date and location are listed in the attached flyer.

Midas is the registration system that replaced OnTrack. It holds all of the teacher’s professional development opportunities and credit earned through USBE. Information on how to access their Midas account can be found at https://usbe.midaseducation.com/site.php?page_id=1210

Utah State Board of Education<https://usbe.midaseducation.com/site.php?page_id=1210>
Accessing Your MIDAS Account . In order to access your MIDAS account, click the "Log In" button on the top right corner of this screen: Next, you will be directed to a login form where you should enter the email on record for you in CACTUS and your password, if you know it.

After they log in, they should click on the course registration tab at the top of the page. Using the training date flyer, find the Midas course number listed under the training date and location. Enter that number into the “Search by Midas Course No” section. They can then follow the instructions to register for that particular course. If they are still having trouble registering, please contact Tina at tina.morandy at schools.utah.gov<mailto:tina.morandy at schools.utah.gov>

I have also attached the original email that was sent previously discussing the law requirements and the process in which Botvin’s LifeSkills was qualified. Please refer to that document if you have questions. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

We are really excited to be able to provide this evidence-based, nationally recognized prevention program to your LEA at no cost to you. We have received positive feedback from teachers who attended trainings in May/June. Your encouragement will go a long way in helping teachers understand the importance of implementing this program.

Thanks for all that you do in supporting students.
