[Curriculum Directors] Middle school and High School Computer Science teacher PD opportunity

We need your help in sharing the next teacher PD opportunity for code.org<http://code.org/>'s middle school CSD and high school AP-CSP programs. I would appreciate if you can share this email with your fellow teachers/district leaders/ CTE Directors/ principals /school administrators and encourage them to use this opportunity.

Middle School CSD:
·  This course can be used as curriculum for 8th-grade creative coding class.
·  Teachers applying for PD are not required to have a computer science background or teaching experience.
·  All middle school CTE teachers are welcome to apply.
·  Training is at no cost to the teachers or districts.
·  Accommodation and travel expenses associated with the PD are covered by code.org<http://code.org/> and STEM Action Center.
·  Time commitment:
o Attending the 5-day summer PD in Arizona July 17-21
o Attending 2 to 3 locally hosted one day PDs during the school year. (Typically held on a Saturday)
·  Teachers can receive a stipend of up to $600 for completing the training, teaching the course and related milestones.

AP-CSP (9/10/11/12 grade)
·  Coding or computer science background is not required to teach this course.
·  All high school CTE teachers with technical or non-technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
·  The training is at no cost to the teachers.
·  Time commitment:
o Attend the 5-day summer PD in Utah June 12-16
o Attend four locally hosted one-day PDs during the school year. (Held on a Saturday).
·  If the district is approved to receive SB93 funding for teacher PD, stipends will be covered by the district.
·  If the teacher applying for the PD is not entitled to receive stipend via SB93 funding, STEM AC will pay up to $800 for completing the training, teaching the course and related milestones.
