Subject: C4C Computing by Design Workshop January 7, 2015 - Please spread the word

Dear Counselors and Education Leaders,
Plans are in place for a comprehensive and exciting workshop on January 7, 2016 called C4C Computing by Design. It will be held at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi and includes a tour of Adobe HQ, a modern and inspiring technical workplace.

We are trying something different with this offering. Typically C4C, Counselors for Computing, is just for counselors. With computer science education changing rapidly in Utah it makes sense to widen the scope so school teams learn and plan actions together. Please spread the word among junior high and high school administrators, counselors and tech or computing teachers. The attached flyer provides details of the day and includes a link to registration. The flyer is also available for download here<https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B77j5XClszcNNFVFZmZBQURyeEU/view?usp=sharing>.

A few questions people may ask:

Q: What’s the cost of this workshop?
A: Zero dollars. And it includes lunch.

Q: I’m not able to rally a team. Can I come anyway?
A: Yes. Teamwork is the best work but come solo or with a partner if you can.

Q: How many from my school may register?
A: The space holds 80 people so we’ve limited school teams to four. If you have special circumstances contact us.

Q: My school already teaches computer science. Is this workshop for us?
A: Yes. We’ll dig in to the whys and hows of involving more—and more kinds of—kids in computer science. You can always learn more and we’ll tap your expertise!

Q: How does a team register?
A: Talk with your team and designate one person to complete registration on behalf of all. The designee will receive any further communications to share with the team. The link for registration is in the flyer: here<https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B77j5XClszcNNFVFZmZBQURyeEU/view?usp=sharing>.

Questions? Feel free to contact us at c4c at ncwit.org<mailto:c4c at ncwit.org>.
Please register soon as space is limited. We look forward to seeing you in the new year!
