[Curriculum Directors] Deadline Extended for Student Leadership Skill Development Pilot Application

The Utah State Board of Education is pleased to extend the deadline for submission of competitive applications for up to $10,000 for participation in a pilot program for Student Leadership Skill Development.
This pilot program is open to elementary schools serving any combination of grades K-6. Schools wishing to develop programs that develop students’ behaviors and skills that enhance a school’s learning environment and are vital to success in a career. These skills include communication, teamwork, interpersonal relationships, initiative and self-motivation, goal-setting, problem-solving and creativity.
Schools wishing to apply must provide a match for the requested funds, either dollar-for-dollar or in-kind, must participate in the pilot program for two years, and must provide all reporting as required. Preference will be given to Title 1 schools or schools in need of academic improvement.
