[Curriculum Directors] Social Studies Seminars

Dear Curriculum Directors,

I wanted to inform you of an opportunity for your teachers.  Larry H. Miller and Zions Bank are providing the opportunity for several educators from Utah to participate in a summer seminar that involves travel and learning.  The two seminars that are being offered are:
a.       Revolution to Constitution - The first seminar will be held June 9-17 and involves a trip to Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia to see a number of historic sites and learn about the significance of these places in U.S. History.  Only teachers of U.S. History are eligible to apply for this seminar.
b.      Mormon Trail - The second seminar will be held July 27 - August 1 and involves a tour of several important historic sites along the Mormon Trail.  This seminar is open to teachers of U.S. History and Utah History.

                        Boston: Preference will be given to 5th, 8th, and 11th grade teachers.

                        Mormon Trail: Preference will be given to 4th and 7th grade teachers.
There are 30 slots in each seminar.

Transportation, housing, food, and a stipend will be provided for participants in both seminars.  Additionally, participants will be able to get recertification points and college credit through Weber State University for their participation.
