School Counselors

The second season of 13 Reasons Why is set to air on NETFLIX on May 18th. In order to be proactive regarding the sensitive nature of the content, we want to give you as many resources as possible.

On Friday, May 4, the American School Counseling Association<https://www.schoolcounselor.org/school-counselors/professional-development/learn-more/13-reasons-why-resources> hosted a live Facebook webinar with information regarding the highly anticipated release of the next series. The recording of that video will be able to be reviewed from their website next week. They have also offered resources through their website to help support schools through this time. We encourage school counselors to review this material prior to the release date to better understand how you can support students.

Please refer to the email sent through the Suicide Prevention Specialist, Cathy Davis regarding resources from the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) which are assembled as a resource to help you talk about the upcoming series and suicide risk and prevention.
