Please see the information below for information about opportunities for students.

College and Career Awareness Teachers:

One of the biggest struggles we face as we teach College and Career Awareness is the misconception about what the course really is. We all know the great value that comes with teaching this course and the valuable skills students learn to become college and career ready, as well as just being able to function in life as an adult! We now have the opportunity to show Utah and the nation what College and Career Awareness is really about.

Utah CTE is accepting entries for student created videos.

Who: The contest is open to secondary CTE students. Students can enter individually or as a group.
What: Create a short video (90 seconds to 3 minutes) highlight what you are learning in your CTE classes, CTSOs, work-based learning experience, CTE Internships, or in CTE concurrent enrollment classes.
When: Entries accepted NOW through Monday, March 5, 2018.
Why: Videos will be featured on the Utah CTE webpage and via social media to promote CTE programs throughout Utah.
How: Upload your video to YouTube and submit the URL to UtahCTE at schools.utah.gov<mailto:UtahCTE at schools.utah.gov>. Contest rules and guidelines are located here<https://www.schools.utah.gov/cte>.
Prize: Each entry (school and/or student) will receive a framed certificate. The prizes to be awarded to the top videos will be announced in February.
Entries Due: Monday March 5, 2018

Think of all the many different pathways and jobs you can discuss as your students create their videos: Broadcasting Technician, Commercial Art, Commercial Photography, Entrepreneurship & Management, Digital Media, Marketing, etc. These videos would also be a great way to showcase what CTE is about during CTE month (February). I can't wait to see the awesome projects your students will create! I have also attached a flyer you can use in your classroom. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much!
