Fellow School Counselors,

USOE is excited to announce the NEW Comprehensive School Counseling Program Needs Assessment tool provided by EduTech Services at no cost for basic services to program-approved secondary schools. Thanks to feedback from school counselors throughout the state - we are answering your needs in aiming to provide a better assessment tool. Questions correspond with program Student Mindsets/Competencies (previously known as "Standards/Competencies"). Here are some enhancements:

- Decreased time in completing the survey 5-8 minutes

- Increased accessibility options now available to smartphones and tablets

- Ease in disaggregating data using 6 filters:

o Grade level

o Gender

o Race/Ethnicity

o Language Spoken in Home

o Parent/Guardian Level of Education

o Grade Point Average (GPA)

- Increased ease in identifying gaps

- Increased number of counselors (instead of just one) within a department using the tool by setting up access to their school's account with each counselor's own username/password

Counselors are still able to add up to 5 additional questions to each survey (students, parents, teachers). The survey is available in Spanish for Spanish-speaking parents. The questions from the previous tool are the same questions used on the NEW tool.

1. Contact your district supervisor to obtain your unique school ACCESS CODE, and unique SCHOOL PASSCODE as well as instructions on setting up your account. (you cannot skip this step)

2. Once you have created your account, click on the "Video Tutorial" within the Dashboard to receive step-by-step instructions to:
-add questions,
-launch your surveys to stakeholders,
-apply filters, see results, and,
-disaggregate data.

The Teach/Touch Survey (a crosswalking tool to Student Mindsets/Competencies related to Academic/Learning, Life/Career, Multicultural/Global Citizenship, and Social/Emotional) is also available as a separate survey for teachers to complete to help counselors determine instructional gaps related to program-based student needs.
