Dear School Counselors:

Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) is an annual campaign to mobilize millions of children and youth locally and globally to improve their communities through service and volunteering. It is the only day of service dedicated to children and youth celebrated each year in over 100 countries.

The Utah Commission on Service & Volunteerism (UServeUtah) encourages any organization that works with young people to register a youth service project happening between April 17-19, 2015 at www.gysd.org<http://www.gysd.org>. Volunteers must be ages 5-25 to meet Global Youth Service Day requirements.

Please see the attached for additional information.

Brad C. Smith
State Superintendent of Public Instruction
