Thank you for reaching out. I love that you are interested in going into the education field! The Davis School District does not currently have any apprenticeship openings, but we should have openings this spring. When these do become available, they will be posted on our district's job website: https://dsdjobs.net/home This is where you would go to apply for any open positions.

Until then, there are a few other scholarship opportunities if you are interested in looking at a job in special education. These links will take you to more information about these scholarships:

Weber State TAPT Program: https://www.weber.edu/coe/tapt.html. You would need to first be hired as a teaching assistant to apply for this scholarship (we are always looking for special education TAs, you can view current openings here) and then they would provide a scholarship to help you earn your teaching license. I would contact Shirley Dawson at shirleydawson@weber.edu if you want more information about this program and when they plan to open the next round of scholarship applications.
University of Utah TRIMM Scholarships: https://special-ed.utah.edu/grants/trimm.php. This scholarship provides funding for both graduate and undergraduate degrees in special education. They also have a "teaching license only" option for people that already have a degree if that would be of any interest to you. I would contact Dr. Sharlene Kiuhara at s.kiuhara@utah.edu for more information about this scholarship.
