SkillsUSA is beginning plans for the 2026 Utah Skills & Leadership Conference. They have several vacancies for various career pathway chairs and education team leaders. They need your help in finding a quality candidate to fill these roles.

Education Team Leader

An Education Team Leader helps make sure individual contests run smoothly and fairly at the SkillsUSA Utah conference. They work with industry (tech chairs) who run the contests, acting as the communication link between them, the students, and the advisors. Their role is mostly about organization and support, holding pre-contest meetings with contestants, sharing contest updates, checking clothing requirements, and helping coordinate; so that the tech chairs and judges can focus on running the competition itself.

Cluster Chair

A Cluster Chair provides leadership over a group of contests in a specific career area, such as Construction, Transportation, or Health. They attend a monthly zoom call training. They make sure each contest in their cluster is well-prepared, follows the rules, and has the right Education Team Leaders in place. Cluster Chairs also help confirm contest results, support recognition for student winners, and keep everything connected between contests and the contest managers. Their role is more about oversight and coordination than hands-on contest work.
