This is Julie Gale, Director of Education from Utah Film Center, a nonprofit organization funded through the Utah legislative funds to provide arts education through the Professional Outreach Performances in Schools (POPS). This fall, we offer our online, self-paced professional development, Filmmaking in the Classroom. This PD is FREE via Teachable, and the educator can receive one of the following credits:

· 15.00 re-licensure hours

· 1.00 USBE credits 

· 3 alternative credit hours toward the Secondary Media Arts Endorsement

· 6 alternative credit hours toward the Educational Technology Endorsement.

Teacher Professional Development 

 

 

Online, Self-Paced Session: September 2 - December 19, 2025
 

Utah Film Center's Teacher Professional Development offers immersive, high-quality courses for educators. All training is comprehensive, based on Utah Core Standards, and supports the integration of the filmmaking process into educational settings. Through online modules and instructional materials, educators learn how to teach the creation of documentaries, public service announcements (PSAs), instructional videos, personal narratives, and other short film projects with their students.  

Participants can receive 1.0 USBE credit, 15 relicensure points, or credits toward the Media Arts or Ed Tech endorsements. In addition, all graduates get a filmmaking kit and curriculum guide to start making films for their classroom.
